Design

The concept for Treehouse Tutor was developed for a psychology and economies unit at AIE. The unit focused on developing concepts that would fulfill the psychological needs of the target audience and creating and testing balanced economies.

Treehouse Tutor is an educational game for 5–6-year-olds that teaches basic maths skills, like how to read analogue clocks. Players complete lessons and challenges and in return, gain money that they can spend and use to decorate and expand their treehouse.

Due to the target audience of Treehouse Tutor being young, the game was designed intentionally to be very simple mechanically and control-wise while matching the interests children of that age have.
